In late 2017 when I got obsessed with DDLC I discovered the modding community and slowly learned to reverse engineer the games code to make mods of my own and in turn make my own visual novel for a school project. We had to choose a classic piece of literature and create something out of it regardless of format. It's a short 20 minute experience but my teacher spent a year going through it because he was a lazy dude. He handed me my flashdrive on the final day of graduation to tell me that he finally finished it. He gave me a high A but he only got a couple minutes in.
During 2021 I found a bit of interest in 3d modelling and level design wanting to create environments to explore in VRCHAT. As a starter project I recreated my computer room and desk in unity alone using the probuilder tool to DIY this desk that my Grandpa gave me many years ago.
For Orbo's odyssey I made a test mod porting over MK64 Rainbow Road into the unity engine and then messing around with the prefabs. Once my wrists recover I'd love to make a more fleshed out mod for this game>:) To try it out for yourself just click the big icon for the steam workshop page.
Over the last couple of months I have finally decided to pursue creating my graveyard shift gas station Visual novel. Instead of using renpy for the project I decided to give RPG maker a shot after playing through games like TCOAAL, Yume Nikke and others. It's truly incredible how much you can do without any kind of coding. I will be "regularly" updating a seperate page as a devlog soon. Click any of the photos above to see that:)
A jank VRCHAT avatar I made of Ogorki the bootleg hedgehog using a sonic model I found online and probuilder to attach the spikes to his head. I have no idea how to navigate blender so I make everything in Unity.
The mario who knows. This was probably the most trial and error I've dealt with making an avatar as I tried to center the eyes. There was definitely an easier way but I could not figure it out for the life of me. During my height of vrchat some of my friends mentioned that they saw other eople using my avatar in public worlds which was a very cool and surreal experience.
