Marble it up is the spiritual successor to the Marble blast series from 2002 which came pre installed on Mac computers. The gameplay on the surface was simple. Roll a Marble ball until you reach the end goal. Each stage contains different kinds of hazards including cliffs to fall off of, slippery ice, pinball bumpers and sometimes tornados? The movement allows you to control the spin of the marble on ground and mid air while including a jump which helps differentiate the gameplay from the Monkey Ball series. On your journey through each level you may be administered different powerups to help you clear long gaps or reduce your bounce from high places. 

MAIN OBJECTIVE: COMPLETE THE LEVEL AS FAST AS POSSIBLE 

Published and developed by the game studio Garage Games they created a tight physic system that felt great to play and compete for best times throughout all of their titles.

Sadly they had a lot of property issues after their sequel Marble Blast Ultra was delisted in 2011 from the xbox live arcade and left them without the rights to the series. Because of this the development team began working on Marble it Up to revive the series under a new title!

When the xbox 360 first came out I was being babysat by my older cousin who mostly had xbox live arcade titles with Marble Blast Ultra being one of them. I spent hours on the level Black Diamond flinging myself down the level trying to beat it as fast possible without falling off. It was all downhill and you can keep picking up more speed and airtime depending on how you hit the corners and sharp geometry. I would always want to go over there just to play it and mess around with the other levels of course. Come 2011 and the game is removed from online stores and my cousin's xbox gets the red ring of death which leaves me with only a faint memory of this series besides watching videos on youtube for nostalgia. Some time during covid I was taking a trip down memory lane and found a pc port of both marble blast gold and ultra that I could play for free. I sucked with mouse and keyboard but it was still a joy to run through. Only as 2021 rolls by and I get the hankering for 3d platformers with ball physics I stumble across marble it up which is exactly what I needed. It was the sequel I always wanted and it was a lot better than Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD I can tell you that. During 2023 around August the Ultra version comes out and I pick it up on steam to stream it to my gf on discord. To say this game consumed me would be an understatement. I stopped playing Baldurs Gate 3 and Street Fighter 6 just to play a marble game. The leaderboard system coinciding with the replay system was what hooked me in to this title specifically. I made it my goal to get every diamond time medal and every secret which made me understand the physics on a deeper level which gave me a better appreciation.
