A short hike

Sophia's review: "Very cute I really enjoyed the stick game" 9/10

Coltan's review: "This was one of those titles that I put off playing for a longtime until I had sophia over and we played it in pretty much one sitting on the couch together. It's a short game but you get to choose how long your journey is with all of the side content that's nicely packaged and doesn't overwhelm the player. I still have a few songs saved in some playlists from this wonderful soundtrack. I too absolutely loved beach stick ball" 10/10

Paratopic

Sophia's review: "It wasn't scary but it was hard finding different routes" 6/10

Coltan's Review: "besidesthe ps1 graphics tht initially drew me in this game was very shallow in it's gameplay and horror and solely relied on its aesthetics and vibe. I do have a soft spot for any horror themed around VHS tapes so that is why it wasn't lower." 3/10

Super Monkey ball banana blitz HD

Sophia's review "A fun game but fucking impossible to play + the bosses killed the mood" 5/10

Coltan's review: "At the time of first playing this game I loved it as it was the only monkey ball title on switch and I got the fixation to speedrun it since the community was fairly small so I felt like I had a chance. I brought my switch to work while I was doing graveyard shifts at a shitty gas station learning every full run strategy. The bosses are awful besides the air ship one and the physics feel really clunky in the unity engine. It was fun learning level skips although sometimes infuriating." 6/10

Elden Ring

Sophia's review: "For what I was awake for it was great" 9/10

Coltan's review: "I feel I'll rewrite this review a few times but this is one of my most divisive titles. Easily my alltime favourite open world game as it truely felt magical how open ended the exploration was. I will always remember going down the siofra river well going down the elevator for what feels like forever before being mesmerized by the ghostly purple stars that cover the ceiling. There were so many moments like that that kept my jaw to the floor but there were also many boss fights I hated on my 1st run. It was the 1st souls game that I dumped a majority of my stats into health after respecking my build. Bosses like Malenia and the elden star beast and commander niall I was more reliefed it was over than feeling accomplished. By the time the DLC came out I saved my 1st playthrough at the endgame to jump in immediately and I adored it. Some of my fav boss fights in the series which included Messmer the impaler and a hot take but Starscourge Radahn. For how large in scale this title is it's not a game that I can easily hop in and play I have to be fully invested and committed to enjoy this title hence why I havent replayed it nearly as much as other souls games." 8.5/10

Dark souls III

Sophia's review: "I loved the aesthetic and enemies + our character schizochan" 10/10

Coltan's review: "Shortly after beating dark souls 1 and feeling hollow without another experience I tried dark souls 2 and didn't end up enjoying it too much so I picked up a copy of dark souls 3 and fell in love immediately. Some of the best boss fights I've ever experienced in gaming. I will never forget my moment after beating Sister Friede in the DLC. It was multiple days of trying over and over again, changing my strategy or changing my build until I finally got to the 3rd phase with no estus flasks left and came out victorius. The scream of excitement that left my soul could be heard throughout my neighborhood. I ended up getting a heart palpitation just from the tensity as I was sick and off school for a couple of weeks during my grad year. I shared a few more similar experiences with Darkeater Midir that rocked my shit for days on end while still feeling enjoyable. My favorite boss in this whole series probably has to be Slave Knight Gael as the end boss to the franchise. The only point I'm docking this game from being a 10 is I miss the interconnected world design of Dark souls 1 a bit more." 9/10

Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk

Sophia's review "It's alright you know it's an allegory for mental problems" 6/10

Coltan's review: "For a short VN experience made in Ren'py it was a game that really hooked me in with it's beautiful art direction. The story did at some points hit close to home when I found it hard to leave the house and do things while I was still working graveyard shifts being in a constant state of sleep deprivation. It's a game that was best experienced once after getting all of the endings for me." 6.5/10
